OPTICIAN - FRAME MAKER
The Making of Bespoke Eyewear
Step 1 - Share Your Vision
During our first appointment, we take the time to truly get to know you. We listen to your expectations, your preferences, and even your concerns. This conversation is the foundation of your custom piece.
To help us better understand your vision, you’re welcome to bring inspiration — sketches, frames you love, photos, or any visual references that speak to you.
We also carefully consider your prescription needs, facial features, and any specific eye conditions. Designing for strong nearsightedness, for example, requires a different approach than designing for mild astigmatism. Every detail matters.
Our artisan optician will then take precise facial measurements, including temple width, pupillary distance, ear height, and nose bridge width. These measurements ensure not only comfort, but balance and harmony.
With all of this information, we begin designing frames that come as close as possible to the one you’ve been dreaming of — thoughtfully blending your ideas with our expertise and craftsmanship

Step 2 - The prototype
Using the information gathered during our first meeting: your measurements, prescription, and design preferences — our artisan begins crafting one or several prototypes.
These prototypes allow you to see your future glasses come to life. You’ll be able to try them on, feel their balance, and see how they complement your features. This is a special moment, when the idea starts becoming reality.
If needed, we’ll make adjustments or refine certain details to ensure the frame feels just right. Sometimes small changes make all the difference.

Step 3 - Materials and colors
We offer an exceptional selection of nearly 1,000 shades — from timeless tortoiseshells and deep, elegant tones to bold, luminous colors. Whether you prefer something understated or expressive, the possibilities are almost endless.

Step 4 - Crafting your glasses
After the design phase, prototype fitting, and selection of materials, our artisans begin bringing your glasses to life in our Parisian workshops.
Each frame is handcrafted, following the 30 traditional steps of shaping and polishing practiced by French eyewear makers. Depending on the material and complexity of the design, this meticulous work can take anywhere from 8 to 20 hours.
The artisan who has guided you throughout the process will also craft your frame, ensuring every detail is executed with care and precision.
Once the frame is complete, we take precise measurements to fit your lenses perfectly. After the lenses are crafted, they are carefully cut and mounted, transforming your vision into a personalized, finished piece of eyewear.

Step 5 - The final touches
At last, you get to see your creation. After carefully checking that your lenses meet all specifications, we ensure that your glasses sit perfectly — stable, comfortable, and balanced.
Our artisan will make any final adjustments needed so that every detail feels just right.
Once this step is complete, your custom-made glasses are ready to be worn — a unique piece crafted exclusively for you.
